Peering into the past. Part of Nottingham’s medieval town wall was exposed in the 1964 when a section of road was re-developed. It was subsequently covered over again and, sadly, remains hidden from sight to this day.

Stone Courses in the old town wall
Part of Nottingham’s old city wall was uncovered near what is now Maid Marian Way, in the 1960s. It was subsequently re-buried as new developments too place. The area has recently been redeveloped again.
